The Final Countdown Nabil Shnoufi, a key member of the steering committee for the “Freedom Flotilla,” confirmed on Wednesday that the humanitarian mission is nearing its final destination. The fleet is currently less than 100 nautical miles from the besieged Gaza Strip. Despite severe challenges, the fleet is expected to reach the coastline by Thursday morning, aiming to deliver much-needed aid to the starving population.
Escalation in the Dark: Naval Maneuvers and Drones The past 24 hours have seen an unprecedented escalation. Shnoufi revealed that an Israeli military vessel closely approached the flotilla in a dangerous maneuver intended to disrupt its path. This was accompanied by constant surveillance from unmanned drones (UAVs). Furthermore, a massive unidentified ship was spotted deploying smaller, unlit boats that circled the flotilla throughout the night, prompting a state of maximum alert among the participants.
Electronic Warfare: Jamming and Engine Malfunctions The confrontation took a technical turn when Israeli naval forces reportedly used electronic jamming against the flotilla’s communication systems. This interference temporarily disabled the engine of one ship. However, the crew managed to repair the fault and resume the course. Communication has also been restored with the “Alma,” the flotilla’s flagship, after a brief blackout caused by the proximity of Israeli warships.
The “Most Dangerous” Night As the flotilla enters the most critical phase of its journey, Shnoufi described the coming hours as the “most dangerous.” The mission remains committed to its peaceful civil resistance, hoping to break the “unjust blockade” and deliver a message of solidarity to the Palestinian people.
